This course is comprehensive. It follows a useful pattern of teaching/practice with quick hints and tips and advice from Christian singer/songwriters. The format is relaxed and simplistic which is effective but can appear monotonous. When used as part of an exercise or training programme this DVD is great. There are warm up exercises for preparing the voice and extending range. Kate Silbur does the teaching and develops the course well. The practicals are built around well-known contemporary songs including "What A Friend I've Found" and "How Great Thou Art". There are interviews with Brenton Brown, Vicky Beeching and others. The course is suitable for men and women, soloists and groups of singers. Musicademy director Andy Chamberlain says, "The aim of these DVDs is to provide church-based singers with professional vocal coaching in order to fully realise their singing potential and better lead their congregation in worship."
