I'm listening through this debut several times in the hope of finding something worthy of writing about. All I get, though, are depressing tunes with nothing catchy or inspiring. True, I can hear that Mynista are rapping about relevant Christian topics, but the annoying rhymes and boring backdrop of synthy sounds, with overdone bass beats, hide any potential for communicating this message. Every now and then I get all excited because I catch a spark of genius (on tracks "Tragedy" and "Ghetto Grace"). That's all it is though - just a spark. Most of these tracks could have been ditched, the others worked upon and perhaps a shorter EP produced. The only reason I'm giving this the time of day is because I'm reviewing it. Dark and mysterious hip-hop is OK, but not for an entire CD.
