An enjoyable 52 minutes’-worth of self-composed free and easy acoustic music from Maryland native Nancy, with a minimum of synthesised trickery and a maximum of real instruments. Apart from doing vocal duties, Nancy plays acoustic guitar, violin and mandolin, and there’s a little bit of electric guitar and pedal steel mixed in to add a slight country feel. The song topics vary from straightforward Scripture-based worship and more thoughtful social awareness themes, to songs about angels and the aftermath of September 11. Nancy’s voice has a certain Sandi Patty-esque quality about it and a few of the songs don’t grab the attention like I feel they should, but overall it’s quite acceptable, if a little bland.
