Israeli pop star Navah has enjoyed great success in various countries including some No.1 hits. Since moving to the UK there have been several TV appearances, and moves are afoot in the biz to promote her into The Bigtime. This single will provide 50p for each copy sold towards a Romanian appeal organised by Ashford Christian Fellowship. The music still needs to stand on its merits though, so it's no small relief and pleasure to be able to acknowledge a highly professional pop/ rock disc, with the best of everything backing a polished strong voice. The song and performance contain that indefinable something with which history has soaked the Jewish consciousness, and which sparks empathy with current tragedies such as Romania's agony. The instrumental cut on the flip broods moodily, continuing side one's message of sadness and pleading. A successful project, Navah has much to offer the UK scene, here's hoping for a successful career.
