Nevertheless, a relatively new band, having been formed in March 2003, have performed over 50 gigs since that time, so they are obviously working hard at it, as there are few bands that can boast that many gigs in that space of time. The review copy therefore was disappointing, just a handwritten CDR, so I'm afraid no points for presentation, boys. However, the music itself is a different matter altogether. The disc contained four songs which were all full-on rock songs, with elements of rapcore, synths and effects aplenty. The lyrics on all four songs are directed towards God but are no less potent for that, and anyone hearing them play would be left in no doubt as to what this band is all about. For comparison, there are many similarities to P.O.D., the chorus on "I Am The Purpose" actually reminded me of Yes, and the vocal on "Comfy Chair" was slightly reminiscent of Elvis Costello! I particularly liked the funky guitar on "I Am The Purpose" and the chunky riff on "Take Your Place". In terms of overall sound, based on this selection they should appeal to any fans of the new breed of rock bands around today and of yesteryear. The comments on their website indicate that they are pretty hot live too.
