As many UK church-goers will know, the NewDay festival run by the NewFrontiers stream of churches is now well established and this 10-track collection recorded over the 2019 event was produced by Luke Fellingham. The overall feel of these worship songs is pop rock not dissimilar to PlanetShakers and often featuring a dance music groove. The vocals from Simon and Anna Brading, Neal Granville and the always excellent Lucy Grimble are of a high standard and the result is a fresh sounding, engaging release. The opening track "Solid Ground" starts with the congregation clapping a steady beat before bursting in a chart-friendly beat frenzy praise anthem. The same can be said of "Give God The Glory" while "God Glorious" has more than a nod to Coldplay with Jake Martin sounding a lot like Chris Martin. The energy does wane a little as the collection continues, for example the rather ponderous "King Of Kings". But there is no denying the energy and conviction here.
