Continuing where he left off with the previous year's 'How Great Thou Art', this 2014 release from Melbourne-based rapper/singer Nobee One (real name Peter Noble) offers up a collection of typically in your face tracks that press home the Christian message without apology or compromise. Once again employing a rocked up backdrop as opposed to the usual hip-hop electronica sounds, Nobee and his thick Australian accent cover a range of subjects in a manner that swings from frivolity and humour to deadly seriousness with the stark end times warning of "Days Of Noah" nestling next to "Goin' Down Tonight" - a song that appears to be about Mrs One nagging her husband to clean the toilet and carry out other household tasks. Always keen to underpin everything with scriptural passages, the likes of the spoken word "Soli Outro" sensitively urges the unbeliever to trust in Jesus whilst the sensationalist "G Rated" with its references to incest, rape and masturbation completely misfires in terms of communicating biblical content. This time around, Nobee One does more singing than rapping despite the latter being his stronger suite by a country mile although a Christianised karaoke version of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" (painfully coined "Son Direction" here) features a decent vocal performance and works well enough to round off this somewhat hit and miss release.
