I met Non Fiction a couple of years ago when they first signed to Ardent Records at a meet'n'greet in Nashville. They were excited and enthusiastic about this debut album as well they should be because this is a very good effort. Percy Freeman and Larry Porter are Non Fiction and they have been making music together for years so when both became Christians, it seemed a good idea to continue collaborating. From the opening declaration "Still Serving God", which proves you can be saved and still be cool, this is uncompromising stuff. The duo create excellent grooves and lyrics that flow in a street savvy style. Particularly effective are "Jesus On The Mainline" with its memorable hook and creative sounds "Temptation" introduces a bit of soulful singing into the equation. The pair aren't afraid to experiment here and there and the album includes a rock version of "Still Serving God" towards the close of the album and there's a couple of versions of "Miracles" which shows a couple of different approaches. This is uncompromising Jesus rap with a ministry message that is bold and upfront put to beats and grooves that show plenty of imagination.
