Good to see that as legends such as Staples, Brunson and Cleveland reach veteran status, the baton is being handed to young bloods like Draper who are obviously capable of keeping us in the manner to which we have become accustomed. O'Landa and his 60 associates have produced a knockout debut album, live and sizzling. Just when you settle for familiar black gospel sounds the choir have the knack of introducing subtle twists and turns to the music which keep you dangling on the edge of your chair. The old classic "In The Garden" is a case in point, slow majestic and soulful. Right from the first track the sticks of dynamite fly in all directions as the outfit steamroller in with "He Touched Me." The power holds right to the end track "Lord I Thank You", a fitting finale. Again the set leaves a slight dissatisfaction with the standard of lyric writing, but ignore that quibble and go for it, y'all hear me now!
