On A Mission as a band has been together for over 10 years and they really did start very young – their current age range is from 19 to 26. After over 150 concerts, TV and festival appearances all over Europe and Scandinavia in the last three years, they have finally made it onto CD, and a very polished debut it is. I wish that more bands would get that much experience under their belts before they even think about inflicting their music on an unsuspecting world – but I digress. This German combo, made up of two sets of brothers, Andreas and David Mette (guitars and drums respectively) and Manuel and Simon Steinhoff (bass and keys), along with Johannes Falk on lead vocals, has a tight and edgy, almost alternative, sound, and the two years that they’ve spent crafting this 12 track, 50 minute plus album has been time well spent – all the songs are their own compositions. The material covers all the topics mentioned in the title and anyone listening to the album and reading the lyrics in the CD sleeve should have no doubt where these guys are coming from, or the name of the One who can make sense out of the whole business of life. If On A Mission turns up to play at a festival near you, make sure you’re there.
