Until now the most famous thing to come out of Springfield in America is The Simpsons, but that may well be about to change because this four piece from Springfield, Missouri look set for bigger and brighter things. This EP will give a small taste of what is to come, the five tracks leaving you wanting more. For those of you old enough to remember the band's sound has more than a passing resemblance to '80s outfit Transvision vamp with catchy poppy tunes laced with attitude and energy. "Everyday" is a bight and breezy romp, lead singer Vanessa bringing a hazy charm to the vocals over the top of tight guitars and a punching drum beat: this could easily hold its own in the mainstream charts. "This Game" shows the band's versatility as soft piano strings overlay a lyric full of emotion and contradiction as Vanessa recalls the emotions and feelings brought out in a faltering relationship. This is a fine offering and a tantalising promise of greater things to come.
