Home grown vanity recordings come thick and fast these days as aspiring musicians take advantage of the marvels of modern technology to get their message out to unsuspecting Joe Public. Among the latest batch descending upon the CR reviewers' department comes this energetic sample showcasing the songwriting talents of a certain John Dawson from the north east of Scotland. The album kicks off in fine fettle with the title track - a classic rock and roll toe tapper that would fit well on an early Bryn Haworth recording. The other two songs are cast in much the same AOR mould though they don't quite have the sparkle of the opening track. John confirms that by returning to "I Don't Know Why" for an extended mix as a grand finale. The evangelistic lyrics may not be prosaic but they leave the listener in no doubt about God's claim upon their lives. If you like good time "in your face" songs you need look no further.
