Spanning a remarkable 25 years (and 26 albums) of ministry, the Oslo Gospel Choir are an inspiring example of spreading the good news through the power of music. The Norwegian choir, conducted by the prolific Tore W Aas, have been taking the Gospel out of church and into other arenas, places which don't always equate beautiful music with religion, for a quarter of a century. Since 1998, they have sold over 1.5 million records and played to countless more listeners. In celebration of their anniversary, Aas has penned nine new songs as well as a new arrangement for the Townend/Getty classic "In Christ Alone". Forefront of these is the title track, written to sum up both the vision of the choir and a reflection on the previous 25 years the choir has been blessed with. Showcasing the vocal talents of lead singers Lars A Fredriksen, Kine L Fossheim and Marte Lavik among others, backed up by the rest of the talented choir, this album is the easiest of easy listening, ideal either for meditative worship or a background soundtrack to relax into. After so many years recording and performing together, you'd expect a well-honed and tidy mix and nothing on this recording disappoints.
