If the stunningly young Californian sisters' debut was a hottie. this is a master blaster, a scorching set of R&B gospel cuts with those intricate harmonies set across some choice slices of polyrhythmie programming courtesy of producer Michael Bragg. The three possible classics are a crunching "Greater Love' which manages to be both seriously funky and dcliciously haunting, the gliding ballad "It's Me" with all that breathy tenderness which make the Sisters Kimmey a goose pimple inducing experience and "You Brought The Sunshine" where the young trio have updated the neo-reggae lollop, once a big crossover hit for the Clark Sisters, and recreated all the presumably originally spontaneous call and response vocal parts of the original. If there are a couple of minor quibbles, there's probably one, maybe two ballads too many here (the album would have packed more wollop with 10. not 12. cuts) while the 'hidden' track at the close, a seemingly endless bit of tape of a very young sister showing she could preach up a hot Pentecostal sermon is a fascinating piece of family history but palls after a play or two. Still, there's magnificent music here keeping up Gotee's impeccable standards.
