Chris and Steph Teague are a husband and wife duo from Nashville and this delightful six-song EP shows that you don't need big record label support or flashy production trickery to make quality music. Steph has a particularly effective voice that at times reminds me of another quality independent artist, JJ Heller, while Out of The Dust's songs are haunting, wistful and memorably melodic. I particularly enjoyed the catchy "All That I'm Made For" while the slower "How To Love" with its touch of folktronica is just as good with their deft blend of voices. Lyrics are all worshipful/devotional. Best track of all is "Safe To Shore" with some touching lyrics ("Why are you so afraid/Let your heart hear me and come away") sweetly sung over some tasty fretless bass and billowing synth. An EP deserving to be heard by many.
