The pop electronica hitmaker continues to go from strength to strength. While Keeper Of The Cool journalists were lining up to prophesy that "Fireflies" was a fluke hit and Minnesota's Adam Young would soon be considered a one-hit wonder, Joe Public has had very different ideas. "Good Time" has been all over our radios for months and the collaboration between the studio whiz/composer and Carly Rae Jepsen is charming and a perfect summer radio confection even if one reviewer called it "as deep as a puddle after a brief rain." Another unexpected collaboration here is with Blink 182's Mark Hopus on "Dementia". It's something you wouldn't expect would work but with Mr Hopus bellowing across the thudding rhythms it sounds great. Then there's "Speed Of Love" with a lyric which succinctly reflects on the transient nature of human existence. "One track, one mind, one race to win/One start, one heart, one life to live/Oh, oh, oh, like a streak of light/Oh, oh, oh, to watch the world fly by." A similar theme is echoed on the piano-led ballad "Silhouette": "I'm a silhouette chasing rainbows on my own/But the more I try to move on, the more I feel alone/So I watch the summer stars to lead me home." Possibly the best track of all is "Metropolis", a tune about coming home to the only one who "gets me". All in all, an album from a still developing artist who won't be relinquishing his ability to connect with a mass audience any time soon.

'Coming after you' is such a fun, catchy song and the metaphor always maks me giggle - but such stalkery lyrics!! Hope it's tongue-in-cheek or that's a bit concerning :)
