Perhaps there is something in the water in Tennessee, or at least something that inspires a particular brand of energetic rock. Once almost exclusively associated with country music, Tennessee has recently given us some of the freshest new talent in rock, most notably Paramore. Parallels can be drawn between Paramore and Paige Armstrong's music, both musically and in the earnest, emotive lyrical style and vocal delivery. The title track of the album is definitely a highlight, grabbing the listener and keeping them riveted throughout. In fact the majority of the album's heavy modern rock style is bang up to date and somewhat reminiscent of Texas band Flyleaf, whereas in stark contrast, the final track "Unbreak Me" is a really good honest ballad more of the style of Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood, further illustrating the artist's versatility. Tracks of particular note are "Wake Up", "Apathy", "Come Alive" and "Airbrushed Magazines". A fantastic album from a singer who once got national media exposure as a child through winning a battle
with cancer.
