This album by Pam Thum is one of a number of compilations by Greentree Records. Pam has now been recording since 1993 and has more than the odd Dove award to her credit and is a mainstream star in South Africa. I have to be honest and say that I was a little bit disappointed. Sure I expected the album to be typical American MOR/FM type music but was not expecting to hear something so middle of the road. For anyone reading who has also not heard Pam before then I can only compare her style to Celine Dion with a subtle hint of country to it (nine out of the 10 songs on this album are dead slow, orchestrated, slushy ballads). Personally I felt that the songs were much too samey and full of sentimentality rather than genuine sentiment. So much so that I had to go away and listen to some Delirious? afterwards to recover.
