This is the first album from the new line up of Parachute Band - a younger bunch of guys that have taken over the mantle of cutting edge worship in New Zealand and the rest of the world. Whereas the old Parachute team did soul-tinged pop worship, these new guys go for edgy, anthemic rock worship. The album has great variety in its pacing, from the raw opener "The Way" to the melodic "Mercy" and "Precious Jesus" which are then followed by the upbeat and Delirious? sounding "One". Despite the occasional resemblance to the d:boys, 'Roadmaps And Revelations' hangs together well with the very commercial sounding vocals from Omega Levine delivering some insightful lyrics aided by excellent arrangements and solid production. A must have for anyone who likes "worship with rocks in" (to paraphrase Terry Pratchet's Soul Music).
