The departure from Paramore of Josh and Zac Farro and the heated war of words between the brothers and singer Hayley Williams hardly did a lot for Christians working in mainstream music. As it turned out though, Hayley, along with guitarist Taylor York and bassist Jeremy Davis, went on to release in April last year the strongest album yet bearing the Paramore name. The sounds captured by producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen (M83, Neon Trees) are sonically thrilling with Hayley's voice biting through the multi-textured guitars. On "Now" Hayley howls "If there's a future/We want it now" while on "(One Of Those) Crazy Girls" she delivers a tongue-in-cheek vocal over a distinct '60s-sounding pop rock rhythm. But the most catchy cut of all has to be "Still Into You" where the band bring in some electronica flavourings to widen their usual guitar-driven sound.
