'Everything Glorious' is the recording of live worship from this year's massive Passion conference held in America. Passion, the CD sleevenotes suggest, is more a movement than an event. It was born out of the vision of youth pastor and Bible teacher Louie Giglio. The purpose of Passion is to gather college students from across the USA and unite them to seek God in worship and prayer. 'Everything Glorious' joins the ranks of the many youth- orientated worship albums now circulating. Rock anthems are to the fore with Chris Tomlin launching the proceedings with "Awesome Is the Lord Most High" followed by "Glorious" and then on to the call and response of "Do you want to parrrty?" on "Party". (Might raise a few eyebrows at the local parish church.) But the traditional is added to the mix with the hymn "Jesus Paid It All" with the fine vocals of Kristian Stanfill. Then it's the turn of Charlie Hall on the acoustic guitar-led "All We Need". Matt Redman adds the British flavour singing "You Never Let Me Go". David Crowder joins in with three songs including the title track. This album is not without intimate moments of worship, "I Stand Amazed" links the bygone voices of old saints with the new generation to whom the baton has been passed. I for one can only wistfully meditate on being a young person with music like this with which to worship my God with passion. "Hey, shout loud till the walls come down 'cause we have already won", will I ever be able to stop David Crowder's "We Win" reverberating around my brain?
