Early in 2011 over 22,000 university students and young people attended the Passion conference in Atlanta. 'Here For You' was recorded over the four days of that event and captures its sound and heart-cry. With songwriters and worship leaders of such high calibre as Chris Tomlin, Christy Nockels, Matt Redman, David Crowder Band and Kristian Stanfill it is no surprise that Passion's albums are today a major vehicle in introducing new and fairly new worship songs. The high-end production compliments the depth of the lyrical content as well as matching it perfectly with its sonic soundscape. Hillsong's "Forever Reign" is already making an impact while new numbers like "All My Fountains", containing a playful rhythmic clapping section, and "Always" with its strong declaration of faith and hope immediately connect hearts with God. "Shadows" led by the David Crowder Band contains a nice surprise in the form of rapper Lecrae who puts an urban contemporary twist on the song. With a fluid progression of high-energy to gentle surrender and back again 'Here For You' is a great album to worship along with. I won't be surprised to hear numerous songs from the album being played in churches in the coming months.
