At every new year the Passion: Living With A Purpose event takes place in Stockholm gathering together thousands of young people from northern Europe. This live recording captures the worship at the event and mainly features a selection of songs written by worship leaders Andreas Nielsen and Andreas Sandlund. If you're familiar with live albums from Planetshakers or United Live then this is best served up as a Scandinavian version of that. Highlights include the muscular vibey sound of the opening "To Him Who Sits Upon The Throne" and the nine minute gentle cover of Darrell Evans' "Your Love Is Extravagant". If I have a criticism, it's simply that all of this sounds just like every other live pop rock worship album I've been listening to lately. Same sounds, same sort of lyrics and after ten years of Soul Survivor styled worship, I'm wondering whether we really need something new to break out.
