Described as A powerful soundtrack of worship and prayer, this studio recording served as a prelude to the One Day event in Memphis, USA back in May, 2000, which we've quite clearly missed! Fortunately this collection of new and old songs by some of America's top collegiate worship leaders (along with the odd interloper, to whit: one M Redman, giving a fine rendition of Martin Smith s Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble) more than stands up on its own. The material ranges from Redman, Smith and Paul Oakley through standard Vineyard fare, as well as some homegrown songs by the worship leaders themselves. The common bond that they have is that they are superbly arranged, played and sung. The arrangements in particular are varied, bold and quite excellent. A goodly number of these tracks would make excellent worship songs in local churches, particularly noteworthy the cracking opener Salvation and the blending of Vineyard song Make A Joyful Noise into David Crowther's I Will Not Be Silent. There s even time for a hidden version of Matt Redman's Sing Like The Saved which romps and rocks along with joyful abandon. Altogether splendid stuff, and highly recommended.
