Since its inception in 1997 Louie Giglio's Passion events have become seminal in the development of modern worship music. 'Even So Come' is Passion's latest offering. Recorded live over three conferences in Atlanta, Georgia and Houston, Texas in January 2015 with over 30,000 college students in attendance, the album features highly acclaimed worship leaders such as Chris Tomlin, Crowder, Matt Redman, Christy Nockels and Kristian Stanfill. The 12 tracks are a good blend of standard contemporary worship numbers with others that try to push the boundaries a little, keeping variation and interest throughout. "Forever" features the superb vocals of Melodie Malone and is a passionate and uplifting version of the Bethel Music anthem about the death and resurrection of Jesus. Crowder gives a gutsy performance on "Lift Your Head Weary Sinner (Chains)" and the gritty, foot-stomping track is well placed to add some interest. The up-beat dance music-orientated anthem "The Way" originally by Worship Central also adds another dimension to the feel of the album. Christy Nockels then provides the flip-side of the coin with "My Anchor" which contains a beautiful emotional and tender moment when she sings "and I hold on to you, and Jesus you hold on to me". 'Even So Come' captures the sound of a generation of student worshippers and continues the established Passion tradition of containing songs that draw people into the presence of God.
