Paul features 10 of his songs in this acoustic live voice and guitar set recorded at The Swan In The Rushes in his home town of Loughborough. He's been performing solo gigs for only a year and perhaps needs more time to really catch the ear. His sound is not unique enough and the songs are not strong enough to catch the ear of the CD listener and he would have made more impact with a well produced studio recording. Stylistically, Paul is firmly in the mould of hundreds of acoustic singer/songwriters. At the opening of the album, on "A Note Of Goodbye", Paul's sound reminded me of Gordon Lightfoot while our man includes in his set some overtly Christian songs, such as "One Lonely Night", a composition inspired by Gethsemane.
