This band are currently the hottest property in Australia outselling the big American names and building a substantial following with their melodic, perfectly formed pop. Built around singer guitarist Colman, this is old fashioned pop with real instruments, strong songwriting and a straight forward message. Acoustic driven pop with splendid harmony work is the root of their sound but there's plenty more going on and the tight construction of the songs and the bright fresh faced breezy production make 'Turn' a compelling album. My faves include the unusual lyrical concept of "I Dream" as well as the more obvious pop success of the title song, "The Sun, The Stars & The Moon" and "Sundown". The edgy driving "The One" illustrates the gutsier end of their sound whilst the gentle "Same Mistakes" is a moving observation about the cyclical nature of relationships and the emotional damage that can so easily entangle us. Tight, passionate melodic pop music doesn't often come finer than this and surely it won't be long before the band breaks out of Australia to become a respected band worldwide.
