Released in 1987 and taken from his debut solo album for CBS, this is from the era when singles were extended and remixed to extend over 12 inches of vinyl and the results could be stupendous or a bit dull as a drum machine could just be left running for the middle section. In the case of Johnson, hot from his stint with gospel group Paradise, he really deserved to make it as a solo artist with a falsetto voice as distinctive as Earth Wind And Fire's Phil Bailey. Produced by Junior "Mama Used To Say" Giscombe, the track really does show off the power of Johnson's voice though stretched over this extensive mix, it wears a little thin towards the end. The B sides, the pedestrian "Wonder Of You" and the upbeat "That Was Yesterday" are okay but there are obvious reasons why they're B sides!
