This is the 12 inch version of one of the many singles taken off Paul Johnson's debut album in an attempt to break him in the UK. The original song was written by former Free bassist Andy Fraser and the much covered song was originally made famous by Robert Palmer. It has the perfect inspirational soul vibe that works for a singer like Paul as he tried to move from his gospel roots to try and cross over into the mainstream. Sadly "Every Kinda People" didn't chart when it was released in 1987. The second track "Believer" is equally a number with the potential to appeal to both mainstream and church audiences, initially sounding like a gospel song but in fact being a romantic love number. The third track is a remix of the fine album cut "Burnin'", itself also released as a single. All three tracks simply show off the stylish, falsetto voice of Johnson.
