Yes, you did read it right. The CD is FREE of charge to worship leaders who would like original, anointed, copyright-free worship and praise songs. Now, I'm prejudiced; I mean seriously prejudiced, being a founder member of Sound Doctrine which, together with pianist on this album, Roly Johnson Bell, set out to make all Christian music copyright free. This work carries the Sound Doctrine ethic in toto, inviting anyone to copy it without fear of contravening copyright law. Paul May and his team have got it right for the most part. The CD is clean, well produced and concisely put together using only minimal instrumentation. The notion is that a simpler arrangement is easier to learn if you want to do the material in your own church. (Backing tracks available - also free!) You can look at this in one of two ways. Either it's a cop out for expenditure and budgetary considerations, or it's genuine. My own view is that Paul might look at the full Monty in terms of more attractive arrangements and offer top line and chords/lyric sheet for the happy clappers to work from. But this is something that still needs to grow through these brave and few who are prepared to give without price. Please God, that your Church will not damn Psalm 100 with faint praise, but will see that it is a truly Spirit-led enterprise that embraces all that born again believer should be about - being different and peculiar people, showing a lost world that Jesus is different.
