Since his 'Up To Zion' album in 1991, Paul Wilbur has risen to become the leading figure in Messianic worship and his songs, based on the Hebrew Bible, have produced classics like "Kadosh" and "Days Of Elijah". On this latest addition to Mr Wilbur's massive catalogue, the 65-year-old veteran has partnered with producer Dan Needham who also worked with Paul on his last, critically acclaimed album 'Your Great Name'. One reviewer has written that "with every Paul Wilbur record, you can expect those thumping, guitar-heavy, burly calls to spiritual proclamation of Yahweh's victory over his foes." And indeed you get some of those here. "King Of Glory" was co-written by Wilbur, Michael Neal and Don Poythress and is up there with Wilber's best. Elsewhere, the hymn-like "Lechu Neranena L'Adonai" connects strongly even though it is sung in Hebrew while throughout the blend of Jewish and non-Jewish musical flavourings is finally executed by Needham. All in all, another powerful album by the worship leader determined to encourage us to explore the glories of the Old Testament as well as the New.
