Originally just called Pax and playing soul, ska and punk, here's a band that have been working independently for a while, going through various lineup changes before finally settling down to release its first worldwide release. Pax 217 meld together a variety of styles - rock, reggae, pop, punk and a touch of hip hop and create a highly energetic, powerful album. Standouts include the incredibly catchy rapcore "Sandbox Praise", the funky rock of "No Place Like Home" and the fluid reggae rock fusion of "Skwid", a tribute to their drummer. Skwid may be loo young to drive but he's old enough to create a driving rhythm over which the rest of the band let loose. Met this young band in America recently and they're the genuine article, full of testimony of what God has done and keen to make music that leaves an impression. And they do!
