Human nature - it takes strength not to respond to a title like 'Mixed Emotions' with a pun, a balanced for/against review and a five square rating. However, unfortunately, the negative far outweighs the positive. Peter was the apostle John in Roger Jones' musical 'Angel Voices' and this self-penned collection has a similar feel about it. Except for a couple of rousing tracks such as "Fix My Eyes" (a Kendrickesque stomper) the rest is reminiscent of 'Michael Crawford sings Lloyd Webber'. The success of "Aspects Of Love" demonstrates the popularity of this style of singing, but Peter's so-so vocals are not strong enough and do not do the songs justice. The songs themselves are excellent and Peter's name deserves to be added to the list of promising new song/hymn writers (another, Mike Stanley, also appears on the album). But the best is yet to come.

I wrote the album and I totally agree with the above review...there is so much I would change if I was recording it today.
I guess that's why now I mainly write choral works and children's musicals GRIN
