Phatfish return with a nicely packaged selection of five new songs and a remix by Mark Edwards. The title track, which kicks the EP off, is a bit of an epic description of social decay backed by an earnest tune. This is followed by "Phathouse", a warm radio-friendly tune ideal for the car stereo. The remix is the stronger of the two versions, but is basically the same as the original with enhanced production and the addition of saxophone by Julian Nicholas. (So don't expect no jungle/house excursions.) The best song is probably "Audience With God" with an interesting lyric about creation from God's point of view. However, having seen the band perform the song live with burning lead guitar from Mike Blow, this recording was disappointingly a little tame in comparison. Over all this is a very enjoyable CD and comes recommended as an essential summer buy.
