Reviewed by Phil Thomson Here is a musical journey in which you should lose yourself, and take a long time coming back. Such clarity of thought, such pure playing - whatever good things you've ever read on Keaggy, believe them, then find out they were an understatement. Offering this two album release is a fine way of introducing Keaggy to a new audience, and I can well understand the timing. The hint of a move back to acoustic or uncluttered production, with something real to say, combined with the dearth of new writing and insistence on rip-off these days, leaves Phil Keaggy, the Artiste, in a world of his own. The quality of his thoughts and writing on "What A Day" and "Love Broke Through" is timeless, and leaves you unconĀcerned by the original release dates - 1973 and 1976 respectively. You will be genuinely moved, delighted, surprised, and left hungry for more by a communicator of consummate skill and discernment. You really must catch up; or if you have the original collector's piece vinyl, now's the time to refresh your ear with this digitally remastered version. An absolute must for any serious student of Christian music.
