Phil's debut album opens with "Your Love Is" which sets the tone for a fairly generic, uninspiring record. Too often the sounds are unoriginal. Many of the songs here have the most awful electronic drum beat, which is very difficult to ignore. When you do get past that though, the rest of the production values are not much better, with directly injected acoustic guitars limiting the potential live sound. Having said all of that, if you forget about the demo-quality production and arrangements and just concentrate on the songs, there is no doubt Phil can obviously write. But the release of this low-budget effort does Phil few favours which is a shame as he's clearly a worship leader with talent and potential.

This CD has some really well written songs on it and
demonstrate the potential that Phil has. I believe that
this was recorded in a home studio and as a vehicle for his
songs and musical skill provides a good window to his
worship heart. It is true that some of the production on the
cd doesnt have the quality of a full studio. However, if
Phil had the use of studio facitlities that guys like Niall
Dunne has then I am sure that the quality of his songs and
musical talent would shine through. The CD has some catchy
tracks and these work really well when Phil performs them
live. Definately an artist to watch out for if you get the
chance to listen to his work or see him live.
