This is the single Philippa's numerous fans have been waiting for. Having seen her rise to the top of the tree in the tiny UK Christian scene and her tours with top acts like Lionel Richie, a hit single was obviously necessary for further progress. Whether "Even Now" will be that hit is of course down to the vagaries of the radio station gatekeepers but a haunting midtempo ballad, fine production from Nashville's finest and Philippa singing in an appealing lower register than normal all make for a fine pop single. Written with compassion about someone's painful loss, "Even Now" is suffused with hope and deserves the widest possible exposure.
