Take a large chunk of Corbannesque rock (yep, these guys come from Seattle too), add a bit of punk, a pinch of industrial and a touch of zaney Terry Taylor madcapness (like on the silly "Canon Fire Orange") and you have another gritty, noisy and brash set from America's Christian underground. Out in the States in 1994 and now belatedly in the UK shops, 'Sin' offers lyrics that at times pull no spiritual punches - "Ring True" ("My strength is dead/I hope instead/On every word he's said") and at times surreal streams of consciousness diatribes like "Slow" ("It's all chasing, racing/Often crazy/Does it show?/Grab me that I might be awake"). Lead vocalist Scott Hunter snarls and chokes, guitarist Aaron Sprinkle's guitar roars with cacophonous energy and there's even a quite inexplicable sample from a telephone answering machine about a missing necklace on the close. Riveting.
