Reviewed by Alex Figgis One of the top three selling acts for Tooth & Nail's sister label, BEC Records, Project 86 follows in the wake of the ever popular rap core genre of hard music. Though successful, Project 86 seemingly never lose their focus; intent on proclaiming the Gospel for those with ears to hear, within any given context. Reminiscent in part to the mighty Stavesacre, Project 86's second release blends such diverse elements as groove, traditional metal, rap and hard rock; "One Armed Man" being a fine example of the band's peculiar take on hardcore. Produced by mainstream producer G G Garth (Rage Against The Machine), 'Drawing Black Lines' is a well rounded, solid release boasting some breathtaking arrangements, deftly delivered by the band. Standout cuts include the hardcore tinged "PS", "Chimes", with it's moody, slow building groove, and the aforementioned "One Armed Man", Credit is due to the band for once again releasing a groundbreaking project of the highest calibre.
