With a striking blue jewel case complete with intriguing picture adorning it, Project 86's sixth full length is a mixed bag of tracks. Described as post-hardcore by many, tinged with a quirky punk factor, their sound is definitely maturing. The tunes on display are really rather good too. The opener "Eva (A Chorus Of Resistance)" has an almost suffocating guitar laid thickly over a driving rhythm and makes for a high-octane start. Melodies are strong and "sing-along-able", ranging from the appropriately monikered "Caveman Jam" to the anthemic "The Sanctuary Hum". The overall result is a solid album but one that is never quite exceptional. Fans of the band will not be disappointed, and this disc may well see some new converts too. Recommended, but unlikely to become a classic in your collection.
