Out since 1993 but slipping through the CR reviews net, this is a fascinating slice of various rock styles from one of Britain's most zealous teams of rock evangelists. Opener "Grown Ups Blew The Planet Earth" is a surging anthemic rocker with Joshua Doyle singing well. But much more interesting is "Flesh Wound" which after an acapella intro descends into a doomy opus where howling guitars fight it out with a girl chorus. Then there's another musical fragment, imaginatively titled "Untitled" before a turbulent exercise in phased guitar leads into an acoustic ballad "Jesus Freak". This is followed by a piece of rock rap! Clearly for Josh Doyle and friends stylistic eclecticism rules though he may be wise to cut down some of the style hopping on future recordings. One final thing. Some of these titles may not tie up with the songs they describe. Such is the eccentricity of the extravagant alternative artwork that the poor reviewer is left struggling.
