A four track CD single which is attempting to be breezy pop and Mike Jones (for he is Pulse) wants to go on Radio I and TOTP. But, oh dear! If the D:boys can't do it. then this certainly won't! Let's be honest about this. The songs are nicely enough produced with an adequate studio sound and some ok arrangements but there are two fundamental problems here. Firstly Mike Jones has the kind of voice which strays out of tune on a fairly regular basis. Secondly, on the writing from there are a few problems with the songs themselves. Although well intentioned. "God's Light Shining" is twee and cliched and "Two Roads" wanders melodically without ever getting anywhere. Why they included the original mix of "Two Roads" is a mystery since it follows the superior remix. The best song is "Last Chance" but unfortunately the poor vocal performance mars even this. For the future, Mike, you need to work on Strengthening both your songwriting and vocal performances if you want to impact the mainstream. This one's for friends and relatives of the artist only!
