Those who know their CCM history will know Rachael rose to fame and acclaim at age 15 when, in 2000, her debut album spawned four number one Christian radio hits. 19 years on, she's released this magnificently moody ballad. The lyrics are powerful ("I've been swimming upstream for way too long/Trying to find the place where I belong/Fighting the voice in my head/That says stay with the pack, the pack will get you ahead/Or leave you for dead"), followed by those telling lines in the chorus which go "There's a side of my heart/That just wants to go home." If this great song and recording had been used in key scenes during a Hollywood blockbuster or been released bearing the name Adele, it would no doubt now be a mega hit. As it is, you can listen to it while watching Rachael's excellent video which contains some footage of Lampa when she was a precocious child singer. If you're up for a moving ballad, make sure you search this one out.
