Rebecca is back with an album of praise and worship songs that she describes as "her most personal recording to date". These 10 tracks, produced by Casting Crowns' Mark A Miller, affirm why she is still a relevant and accessible Christian artist nearly 20 years on from her debut. 'I Will Praise You' is a pounding, energetic opener and St James' distinctive voice rides over driving guitars and pop beats, proclaiming a defiant "when fear is overwhelming. whatever the storm. whatever the cost. I will praise you". This is followed up by a rocking version of Matt Redman's "You Never Let Go", continuing the theme of God's total faithfulness throughout the storms of this life. "You Still Amaze Me" slows the pace a little. Drawing inspiration from "Amazing Grace", it's a song of adoration at the cross and anticipating worship before God's throne, perfectly flowing into "In A Moment", a song opening with a beautiful picture of Christ's return and life in Heaven. Celtic-tinged "The Kindness Of Our God" is an inspiring expression of God's great kindness to us through Jesus' death on the cross and owes no small debt to Stuart Townend, wonky time signatures and all. With collaborations and covers sitting alongside Rebecca's own songs the album feels rich and varied, well thought out and put together with care. In all this is a great collection of songs, well produced, immaculately performed and lyrically a great encouragement. Great to see the talented singer back in the CD racks after a wait of over five years.
