Australia's Redruth are the musical vehicle of singer/songwriter Stephen Hefferman and here have created a beautiful second album. Hailing from Sydney, Redruth can track their name back to Hefferman's missionary great great grandmother, who was born in Redruth, Cornwall. Lyrically, Hefferman has written some heartfelt and moving songs that speak of the realities of living an obedient life of trust and faith in God. The opening track "Trouble" sets the tone both lyrically and musically, with Stephen's rasping vocals ably supported by driving guitars. Redruth's arrangement of "The Lord's Prayer" is a particular highlight, as is the passionate and intense "Let You In". Redruth have mastered the art of atmospheric rock clearly communicating their worship of God while allowing listeners to engage in worship. There are also some more delicate moments on the album, which add to its richness, like the subtle piano hidden in the softly-sonic "Buried In Me", and the more acoustic based "Rescue". This is the work of a band beginning to settle into their own sound.
