Yet another musical combo from the Midlands! This was made on a stringent budget, which the band have done well to manage on. Thus there are flaws, but they can be overlooked. Musically, it's not quite there. At least, it doesn't sound contemporary. It's introverted, melancholic and, in places, mystic. Maybe there's an attraction in that. It reminds me of experimental indie pop in the '80s. This is the music students in the late '80s would listen to late at night with tomorrow's deadline looming ahead. I know, because I've been there! I kept waiting for something dynamic to happen. I was disappointed. One of the more up songs that appealed to me was "Be Ready". There's also a cool guitar riff at the beginning of "As My Life Goes", which, vocally, is quite a clever song split between male and female. If you'd like something a bit, er, retro, this may convince you that there is life out there after Amy Grant.
