I haven't heard the showcase, 'Hostile Takeover Mix', that Reza-Rec featured on with Disciple but judging from this full length debut he has more than stepped to tha mark. This is energetic sing along stuff. The raps are tight and clear and he takes influences from all over the place to blend into his own style. At times he reminded me of T-Bone, then Cross Movement but without copying them. Reza Rec never gets bogged down in a one dimensional style and this is to his credit because a lot of hip-hop can sound "samey-samey". You want some beat box - check out "Stop Sinnin'". I also enjoyed the Pettidee-influenced "Push Up On Ya Lighta". Our man also takes in rock on the wonderful "Transformers" but my favourite is "Christ Crack The Sky" which has a nagging chorus featuring verbal witness which is stuck in my brain at the moment. He samples the Beatles on "Help" which comes off really powerfully. Reza-Rec has certainly announced his arrival on the Christian scene.
