Those of you who follow the Scottish Christian music scene will know that Richard Reid is a faithful journeyman, who down the years has clocked up the miles with hundreds of gigs, while releasing a series of self-composed acoustic-orientated albums. Nothing quite prepared us for this transformation The veteran singer/songwriter has assembled a truly excellent rock band and, suddenly, the veteran has new creative pep in his step as the layers of biting guitars and socking drums encase his songs. Even when the mood is gentler, and Richard has always had a way with a wistful ballad, the rhythmic depth his band bring to his songs is a delight (for instance catch the reggae outro to “We Can Do More”). Long time followers of Richard will recognise many of these songs from previous albums, but these pristine new versions have improved them immeasurably.
