I doubt whether Rick has ever cut a better track than the opener, "Message Of Love", a deceptively simple rock riff song, with a synth rather than the expected guitar building the thing as first righteously hollering girls and then the fuzz guitars fill it out. There's nothing quite up to the standards of "Message Of Love" elsewhere, and sometimes the BIG drum sound and over-fussy horn arrangements tend to clutter up the rock arrangements. But Rick, despite a fairly characterless voice, has proven himself to be a rock gospel man set to stay around a bit and if you bought previous albums you'll find the ex-Outlaw on form on this set
