Having ministered with song and dance for a number of years, and even set up a Christian school of performing arts, this is Rodney's debut solo album. The collection has a joyful and upbeat disposition, with songs such as "Son Shine", "Don't You Worry" and "Rejoice" setting the pace. This is R&B with a heavy dose of soul: think Seal or John Legend. Producer Herb Middleton ensures the package is well polished with classy musicianship and smooth arrangements. Rodney has a free revving voice, capable of several hundred notes per minute, though it lacks the deep body of the aforementioned Seal. He's impressively agile, though a fraction fidgety on occasion. Rodney's liveliness is, however, infectious and memorable, and deserves to become more widely known.
